The cause of death is obvious: ISLAM. But they are looking for a more PC cause of death, and to hell with the poor innocent victims.

An autopsy is required for every homicide in order to collect evidence.

I think they are often done in murder cases, even if the cause of death is obvious.

You need to watch one of the several versions of CSI! Watch the Las Vegas, original, one, it's really the best.

It's done to collect details of the murders, that only science can reveal, not to look for other possible causes.

Why are they doing an autopsy?

They ALWAYS do an autopsy for anyone that dies while not under a doctor's care. Basically if you die outside the hospital they cut you up. The reason is that the knife wounds could be done to cover something else that was the actual cause of death. Also looking for other evidence and analyzing the knife wounds.
