Hillary Clinton Collapses
BUFFALO, NY-January 31, 2005 — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton says she plans to keep an afternoon speaking engagement despite collapsing during a speech today in Buffalo, New York.
Radio station WBEN says the former first lady was checked out by an ambulance crew after collapsing during a speech at a private club.
The station reports that Clinton still intends to deliver a speech scheduled for this afternoon in Buffalo.
During an earlier editorial board meeting at The Buffalo News, Clinton complained about suffering from a flu-like bug that affected several of her staff members during a weekend retreat in Westchester, where she and former President Bill Clinton live.
Her appearance at the club occurred just before she was scheduled to speak at a Catholic college, where anti-abortion groups are preparing to protest her visit.
