Yes. The old Monogram 1/72 B-36 model used to sell for about $15-$25, ten or fifteen years ago. It now retails for over $100. There is a 1/144 scale model of the same thing, costs $40.
$100?? That is totally insane. Everything is about money today isn`t it? And you know why? L-A-W-Y-E-R-S. If there is even the slightest possibility they can sue people for money they will do it, and they let people know they will do it. This is just plain old blackmail. "Pay me an enormous sum or I will sue the living crap out of you".
