Hello all,
Sorry I've been away for so long - incredibly busy time (as usual) on the home and work front.
Chris is not out of the woods yet. While his liver is doing fine, there are now complications dealing with a rare form of anemia. His red blood cell and platelet counts are extremely low, and he has received two complete blood transfusions so far. Although not in immediate danger, the doctors are now checking into the possibility of Chris getting a bone marrow transplant. I believe that they are beginning to formulate a list of possible donors and run tests for compatibility. Because of his situation with the new liver, Chris needs to match six out of six criteria for the transplant, when I'm told that normally 5 out of 6 would be acceptable. The family is holding up well, and we are all keeping the faith.
Thank you all for your prayers and concern, and please keep the prayers and good thoughts going! They truly have made a difference.
