Thank you for making that post! I heard there was a restaurant doing this, but I didn't know which one.
I am there next Friday PM.
This could be an interesting night. I could probably find another couple of military types to show up too. I haven't been turned away at the door of a bar for being U.S. military since Korea. That encounter ended with a Korean speaking U.S. soldier cussing out the bouncers and telling themn that they'd all be Kim Jong Il's concubines if it wasn't for us defending their country. Great fun. I could go for a little more, especially in our nation's capitol.
That's exactly how it should be! There are businesses all over Oceanside, CA and Fayetteville, NC, that provide all kinds of services to spouses of deployed servicemen/women. Oil changes, pizzas, car washes, all kinds of stuff.
Last year at CPAC, the color guard could not reach for their wallets -- someone always picked up their checks.
It just seems like it is the right thing to do which is why when I learn of something like refusal of service to these two Marines, it just makes absolutely no sense to me.
If I weren't very close to the family, I would not have believed that our military could be treated in such a fashion nowadays. Can't wait till next time a lib tries to tell me how much they care about soldiers...
