That's too bad. I'm orange heritage myself but would prefer to see murdering stopped either way.

You're an attorney, IIRC.
Doesn't the incredibly inclusive civil rights law (maybe they call it human rights law) of DC make it illegal to discriminate against people based on their occupation?
I am not kidding. I could be wrong about this, but I don't think so.
Marines should contact the DC Human Rights Commission or Civil Rights Commission, whatever it's called. Bars have been severely fined for various violations.
The DC anti-discrimination law is so broad that it outlaws discrimination based on personal appearance. Thus, a bar's manager and staff cannot legally select only the beautiful people in line for entry to a bar.

Nope. Of DC bars, wouldn't even put it in my top 30. I have no more personal involvement defending the place than anyone attacking it. Difference between me and most others is, I've been there.

Half the town gets used on one night by one party, the other on the next. A by-product of the two-party system. Anyone catching that half of the name is "Hawk"? That aint sopposed to mean a dem. (Unless you are Scoop Jackson).

I'm not saying that. I wasn't there last night. Things happen. People get refused for service for being drunk, not having IDs (two girls tried to get in with them. Nothing against females, believe me, but they sometimes don't have IDs, or have fake ones). What I am saying is, the bar has no practice of refusing service or entrance to military types.

Discriminating against Marines just because they're Marines is wrong. For the record, that is not what I said.

The manager of the local Wally World walked up to me a couple of weeks ago while I was shopping while wearing a Vietnam Veteran cap and shook my hand and congratulated me on serving our nation. Something I sure did not expect to have happen there.

"For the last 10,000 years civilians have been dissing the military.
And for 10,000 years mothers have been outraged because of it and men in uniform have held their heads up high and walked elsewhere.
Or went in anyway and busted the place up. :-)
There isn't a vet on this board who hasn't been through this. "
LOL- I was JUST thinking the same thing. This weekend my son (in uniform) was screamed at by a middle-aged woman for being a soldier and "trying to kill all our young people" and other assorted hysterical rantings.
My reaction was outrage- my son's was laughter. We civilians could learn a lot from watching our soldiers "deal" with life:)

I surprised by this although I haven't been in there for some time. The bar was a big Redskins bar when the skins were at JFK. Believe it was named during the Vietnam War.
Can't be an Irish bar they love Marines. The bar is close to eigth and Eye but I think the Marines are on there good behavior ever since they went to knuckle junction in some fruit bars on Pennsylvania Ave. The young men from Quantico used to go to Paddy O'Brien's back in my day but that place is no longer there. That used to have fights on a regular basis.

No bar is open on a Sunday night. When I lived in DC in my irresponsible youth, there were lots of bars open on Sunday nights there.
And in Houston, where I live when I'm not off doing weird things in other parts of the world, Sunday nights can be quite lively, especially during NFL football season.
