Kerry: Iraq Election No Big Deal

A bitter-sounding Sen. John Kerry dismissed the historic Iraqi election on Sunday, warning Americans not to "overhype" the watershed event.

"No one in the United States should try to overhype this election," Kerry told NBC's "Meet the Press." The failed presidential candidate questioned the historic referendum's legitimacy, saying, "It's hard to say that something is legitimate when a whole portion of the country can't vote and doesn't vote."

Kerry also pooh-poohed reports of a surprisingly high 72 percent turnout by Iraqi voters, insisting instead that the election has "gone as expected."

Asked if he thought Iraq was now less of a terrorist threat, Kerry at first said, "No, it's more. And, in fact, I believe the world is less safe today than it was two and a half years ago."

But he changed his answer moments later, after "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert pressed him on the bizarre claim.

"I'm glad Saddam Hussein is gone, and I've said that a hundred times," he insisted.

did anyone watch this? Someone in a different post stated on MTP kerri eluded to being in cambodia and delivering arms to the NVA. I can't believe that is true but want to see the transcript. I purposely did not watch MTP when I saw kerri the clown was a guest.

Kerry's a sick pathetic treasonous poor excuse for a human being. It's really obvious he never learns from history...especially our own and his.

The contrast between Kerry's statement, and this article, "This Is Democracy" Say Delighted Iraqis, shows the cognitive dissonance that John Kerry suffers from.

just more irrelevant noise evaporating into the ether of nothingness where no one goes to listen to opinions or gather flowers.

Best book everwritten, "All I need to know I learned in Kindergarten."

It says, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything.

The very junior senator (the soberer one) from MA is rapidly becoming an Al Gore/Michael Moore, that is, a nobody. In a few years, quiz shows will ask who was the Demcoratic candidate in 2004 who ran against former President George W. Bush? Until last year, few people in the US ever heard of John Kerry, and in a few years it will revert back again.
What a sad experience for those decent people in Massachusetts, however, to be saddled with two of the greatest losers in the country as their US Senators. I refer, of course, to thoso folks in Massachusetts who had the sense not to vote for either fool.

Because of President Bush the Iraqi election was a reality. When are we as a nation going to put the MSM in their place and stop giving credence to people like Kerry, Boxer, Feinstein and Kennedy say?

He's a waste of TV time. Better use the time for watching grass grow.

I'm just forgetting about this so called Congress person as I am for Kenndy, Boxer and HRC.

I just heard Bob Beckel on FOX saying Kerry is making a fool of himself this morning with all his "but" speak. Beckel said Kerry's advisors are giving him terrible advice on how to react to this.......

"Perhaps Kerry's remarks are a clue to his 'plan'..."

He talked about his PLAN this morning ... in fact it's a four, count 'em, "four point plan."
