What a horrible trip! So glad you're home safe and sound.

72% voter turnout overall in Iraq; 90% in some regions of Iraq. Relatively little violence. 36 killed; at least 9 of whom were the suicide bombers. No soldiers killed to my knowledge although 4 were injured right after the polls closed.

Many pictures of happy, crying Iraqis. The pure joy reminds me of the morning I woke up to find the Berlin Wall being dismantled.

But Al-Queda was disenfranchised, so the vote is illegitimate.
