Iraqi Election~~~~~ Live thread.
Sadly, a followup was done on the Nat'l Geographic Afghan girl when we were ridding Afghanistan of the Taliban. Not many years later, she had become a prematurely aged traumatized looking woman, looking very weathered and at least ten years older than her true age.
The photographer was Steve McCurry. The woman was about 30 in 2002. She was a haunted looking TWELVE when the first pic was taken.
Shame you can't stroll over there and slap the hell out of him.
We've got all kinds of characters running around our area.
Geraldo's all over the place, too.
If Petahh Jennings comes over to my camp, I'll have a little chat with him and taunt him about the terrorists' defeat yesterday.
He'll hate that.
VPOTUS birthday BUMP!!!
And thanks again, JC, for all you've done in organizing prayer vigils and the like. What a tremendous day.
Looking forward to Limbaugh, Hannity, Elder and the like tomorrow.
The remarkable part about that story-aside from the fact that this woman allowed herself to be interviewed a second time by the same magazine-was that, despite her seemingly battered physical condition, her eyes were still as visually arresting as they had been two decades before.
From my perspective, freedom-whether in Afghanistan, Iraq or the most remote parts of the globe-is a wonderful elixir for a whole host of human ailments.
Forgive me for being crude but it means Hussein can take a flying f--k at a rolling donut.
.. for all you've done in organizing prayer vigils and the like. What a tremendous day.
It was my pleasure. A tremendous day indeed. A day when the world moved to a different place.
Looking forward to Limbaugh, Hannity, Elder and the like tomorrow.
No kidding. It's going to be fun, fun, fun listening to the TV and radio today.
I have to say that my fav. moments were watching Geraldo's reports on FOX NEWS, when he had tears in his eyes, when he showed the body of the poor young woman and cursed the insurgents. Another moment was on CNN, when one of their annoying reporters interviwed a beautiful Kurdish woman.
Bryan Suits was a host on one of KVI's (Seattle) talk shows until last year when his reserve unit was called up to serve in Iraq. He emailed the picture in this link to the radio station.

(I would have cut and pasted the pic here, but can't seem to figure out how to do it - -I know there are tech savy FReepers out there, so feel free to help out).
Sorry #7 did not come out right, because typing out the command, it thought I was posting a picture.
7. Type this command:
type the < sign first, then type img src=", then paste in your url address you copied, then type " followed by the > sign.
The command is img src="..........", with the < immeadiately preceding and > immeadiately after the command.
I heard on the Radio this am that 93% of Iraqis outside the country voted. And that the mayor of Bahgdad talked about erecting a statue of President Bush there. WOW!
LOL!
Re:
"We really should consider using that blue ink system."
Amen to that!
Especially here in Maine where election fraud and vote-fabrication have been rampant for decades.
We have very good evidence that the Commiucrats with the help of the Portland Post Office STOLE a special election a couple of years ago that put BRENNAN in the State Senate instead of VamVAKIAS; They succeeded in stealing the Senate majority back at the same time.
Of course it didn't help that two of the ME State Republican big wheels, Deligates to the National Committee, supported one of the "Independant" Candidates in stead of VamVAKIAS, the lone Republican in the campaign.
When the RNC hit me up for a donation the next time, I sent them two pennies taped to a card - one for each of their turncoats here in Maine.
Since then I have pretty much been shown the back door of the "Big Tent" here in Maine, for some reason.
And now as a result of the Commiucrat's sucessful overthrow (or perhaps I should say "undermine") of the constitutional democratic process, we have millions of taxpayer's dollars unaccounted for, a "Tax relief" bill that will, in all probability, RAISE taxes on the dwindling working population here, and tolls on the interstate highway system go UP - tomorrow!
There are going to be hearings up in Augusta on limiting the practice of same-day voter registration; one of the dem's favorite means of stuffing ballot boxes.
But don't hold your breath for any election reform here in Maine any time soon; although they hold only a slim majority, they rule the state like the effite empire that they think they are.
Re the pic of the Iraqis waiting in line - sitting ducks for an islammofacist machine gunner or mortar crew...
Gotta hand it to 'em; those people have a lot more guts that most of us Americans - and at this point may well DESERVE their freedom a lot more than most of us, too!
Let's not forget; a purple finger in Iraq is like having a sign on your back that says;
"Hey Al-Zaquari; KILL ME!"
There's an inspiration there for any American - or anyone else, for that matter... if we care to notice.
Re. your #86:
" c'mon NOW NAGS . . now's your chance to proove that you're not just all about abortion."
...**(Sound of distant crickets chirping)**...
MAJOR BARF ALERT: Mitch Albom and Kenny on WJR AM 769 Detroit now...
That would be so great! First of all he deserves it. He is the reason they are free. Second, it would just finish off the 'rats. They'd never recover. They'd have to build more mental hospitals just to take care of the suicidal DUmmies! LOL
