Zarqawi was right about one thing: democracy is a threat to Mohammedanism. It was amazing to watch the terrorists ramp up their rhetoric. They destroyed their own cause faster than the Dems did in November.

great pic........as Mr. Rodgers would have said.."it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood".........

"why the terrorists didn't kill as many Iraqis as they threatened"
The reason is most likely the turnout itself. When they saw so many they realized it was best to keep their powder dry and wait. As they wait the Iraqi Army and Police get stronger. The people gain more of a sense of progress and investment in the current government. The terrorists are doomed.

There was a great turnout by American standards...and the really large number of horrific attacks were held down...
Iraqis defied the naysayers and death threats and voted..I shall not listen to the MSM gloom and doomers today..

Did the moron really say this......becuase the Khemer Rouge were the freaking enemy! Kerry said it during the campaign too, but backed off it once somebody pointed out the fallacy of the story. I don't know why the dunce brought it up again.

On the other thread (Live Thread - Day 1), there was a post from a blogger that they thank America for the blood shed and said they'd never forget. It was so heartwarming.
After years of a brutal regime, it will take time for hearts to soften and I pray they are able to find that softness of spirit to thank our troops for their sacrifices.

BTW Zarqawi is known to change his appearance regularly.
"Yes, today he looks remarkably like Ted Kennedy."
LMAO!

I was going to say: The vote was a success, the dems are in meltdown.

Be hopeful, there was a time Christianity could not separate church and state. There are several important differences though. Christian teaching doesn't command theocracy and, historically, Catholic states generally tolerated minority religions, especially in comparison to other contemporary nations. Religious tolerance and freedom of conscience is a Christian idea.

As you know, there are Islamic scholars who would say that interpretation is not correct. Regardless, I choose to be hopeful, freedom is the cry of the human soul. There have been too many images and interviews out of Iraq today for pessimism. Even the cynical media in the region is acknowledging the power of this vote.

Also there is no such thing as a "Church" in Islam.
