The Threat Matrix
The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.
"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."
We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. |

Some American Mosques Carry Extremist Tracts, Study Says Full Story
|
WASHINGTON -- Mosques across the U.S. continue to carry books and pamphlets describing non-Muslims as "infidels" and promoting intolerance against Western society, according to a forthcoming study by Freedom House, a U.S. human-rights group. Despite vows from American Islamic leaders after Sept. 11, 2001, to proselytize peacefully, New York based Freedom House researchers found 57 documents with incendiary material in more than a dozen mosques and Islamic centers in six states and Washington, D.C., visited over the past year. |

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iranian state television reported Wednesday that an explosion near the southwestern town of Deylam, about 110 miles from a nuclear facility, may have been caused by a fuel tank dropping from an Iranian plane. A government spokesman said the blast may have been caused by friendly fire.

Condi speaking this morning to Senate Committee mentioning the Syrians. It was a quick report by FOX and I missed most of it. It does seem things are quickly heating up in the region.

My apologies Godzilla. When I first posted from their website, a couple of months ago, I thought I also posted a "disclaimer" that they were very pro-Taliban/pro-jihad, etc. I just find some value in reading what "the other side" is spewing.

I just find some value in reading what "the other side" is spewing. No problem, we see the internet postings from the scum in Iraq nearly every day.

Something is up. They must have some fresh intelligence.

This is extraordinary. In a matter of 48 hours, Syria has firmly told the world it is no longer even remotely amenable to the West. By announcing a "common front" with Iran, and given the bold nature of the Lebanese assassination, one has to wonder if Syria has joined/is joining the nuclear club via black market. We know that N. Korea bought a complete weapon from a third party. There's no reason to discount the possibility that Syria has done the same.
Also, as an aside, Al Qaeda had threatened last year that their next wave of terror would begin following a high profile assassination... This may be the reason for chatter from the security apparatus.
Very disturbing developments.

"Is there a shelf like on water?"
I do remember reading that bottled water has a stated shelf life of 2 years. Perhaps that's an FDA requirement?

Local Terrorism Expert Worried About Al-Qaida Silence
(snip)McGinty said communication with his military contacts seem to indicate there are signs another attack could happen possibly within three or four months.
"I can't make a prediction, but there's gonna be an attack in (the) U.S. Pieces of the puzzle are falling together. The threat window is opening now more than a year ago," McGinty said.
He said New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Saudi oil fields are still prime targets because it would disrupt the U.S. economy. (snip)
