Strossen told the group of students that the ACLU has "defended the right for individuals to engage in polygamy" What does it mean to "engage in" polygamy?
Just living together? Or living together with governmental recognition?
Because adults do have a right to group sex and living together.

Ok, but lets say the two wives were Pamela Sue Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith. Can you dream of the blondness in the room? Or the intense discussions you would have on global cooling? Or just shopping for groceries at Wal-Mart? Every man would eye you with envy...and you'd never say a bad word.

I called it! First homosexuals, now polygamy, then incest.

There are no successful polygamous societies. Polygamy is rife with incest, abuse, older men hiding behind religion to prey upon the young and vulnerable.

I lived in Southern Utah for a time.
The polygamists would parade their brood on the streets of St. George.
Does the phrase "Use a gene pool bigger than a doughboy" make sense?"
These Libs should check out Fredonia or colorado City (polygamist towns) on the Utah/Arizona border. Talk about twilight zone stuff....

The problem with most Polygamists, is that the marriages are "arranged" with very young preteen girls who have no say so in the matter.
The older men in these religious communities keep stables of girls, often in abusive conditions, with no way out.
They are brainwashed from an early age that this is the way of the Bible, and to reject it is to reject God, etc.
I have no problem with having more than one wife, but Lord knows, I personally couldn't take the aggravation from more than one "free-willed" wife at a time. I have trouble keeping my sanity at times as it is (and I'm sure my wife does too).
All joking aside, there is much more to this story than the surface shows, and a near slave-trade environment does exist to some extent.

So I went to YaleDailyNews.com looking for this story, but it doesn't appear to be there

Good point. The MSM is so busy bombarding us with agit prop regarding our racism, bigotry and homophobia, it's easy to lose sight of the foundation behind the conservative thought.

The end result is expansion of the welfare state. Right now, in places like San Francisco and LA, you can have only one domestic partner. That means that if your life partner has a serious illness, your health plan has to pay for his medical care. Once the ACLU gets polygomy legalized (because love makes a family), your health plan will have to pay for all your partners medical care. ALL of them, no matter what the number. It's the only possible outcome based on the logical projection of this issue.

"Well, why not, they "won" on sodomy."
...and won on NAMBLA and death row cases. Thanks ACLU.

So you are saying that polygomy is a way around intolerant, outdated, pesky laws prohibiting child rape and pedophilia. No wonder the ACLU supports it.

No, more like the lamb-raping ACLU lawyer asking the lamb, "who's your Daddy?"
