One of the interesting comments hours ago on Fox was an Arab reporter who was saying his colleagues were impressed...and that this is going to carry to other Arab countries...
I'm hoping for too much, but this could be the start of a long-needed cultural change. This election is the first time many people have seen political freedom in action.

The election has ripped to shreds the paternalist view Arabs aren't ready for democracy. Its not going to remake the Middle East overnight but its already a milestone. So what were realists like Brent Scowcroft telling us - a vote would usher in a period of civil war? I think that looks like an unlikely specter now.
