I just heard Jesse Jackson say that "Today we have democracy out of occupation at gunpoint." Discuss.Exqueeze me? Well, then, I guess the American Revolution, the Civil War, WWI and II, GW I, Afghanistan, and the liberation of Iraq are all illegitimate, eh Jesse? Wanna surrender everything we've won, bright guy?

We may be able to draw down our troops faster once we know Iraqi security forces will fight for a freely elected government. Today, Iraqis own the problem - and they are the ones who must defend their free society. A people willing to come out and vote is one that will have no problem remaining free and I would not be surprised if in 10 years time Mesopotamia is one of best governed, freest and least troubled countries in the world. Sure, it didn't look that way yesterday. In the end, we'll be able to look back and say it was all worth it.

Go back to the abyss you vile creature. The forces of Mordor SHALL NOT PASS!

ROFL. We also forced the Germans and the Japanese to adopt democracy at gunpoint. We gave them no choice in the matter. And the world is definitely better off for it. Jesse Jackson's making a fool of himself.

I guess he must also think the same was true for Germany and Japan after WWII.

CNN has had all of freedom and elections they can stand, apparently. They have moved on to an interview about flu shots and health.

A bullet in the forehead of Zarkooky and the insurgency will fold up like a cheap suit.

Jesse Jackson couldn't get a job at a brothel in Germany.
To: mainepatsfan
And what was wrong with that, my friend? The Iraqis made the decision to elect their own parliament. They were the ones who spurned the enemies of freedom. America did not compel them to do anything they didn't want to do. Are Arabs incapable of living in a free society? I'd like to think today's election answered that question.

They're throwing in the towel!

Apparently for J.J, long lines in Iraq are a non-event. In OH, they were a conspiracy to steal an election. Why the non-chalance? Oh if Democrats were running in Iraq, I'm sure he'd pop up there to make sure they could steal it.

People like Jackson think freedom is something that can be "forced" upon people because they don't believe most people can handle it. Freedom cannot be imposed, it can only be denied.

I have tried a bit to catch up on thread. Leaving in few minutes for church, bike ride (20 miles downtown Cleve); a baby shower & then church function.
Will ink up my finger before church. That will frost the bikers who are sorry libs & ACLU types. Nothing in common except riding and I rarely go with them.
Stay safe.. will try to catch up more tonight. I still have to post my thoughts / pix from inauguration. Never home long enough to do so..
:)
God Bless our troops & the folks in Iraq today!
