The MSM was hoping to have video of burning polling locations. Instead they got video of Iraqi's lined up to vote at them. A dark day for the MSM.

Chrtianne Amanpour just reported that insurgents were using an ambulance to drive around an throw out grenades. People on their way to the polls surrounded the ambulance, grabbed the the occupants, and turned them over to authorities!

These are brave people. God bless them.

Right on! The citizens of Iraq have self confidence and are taking responsibility for themselves.

Ollie North on FNC now, being positive and in a great humor.

Oliver North on.

Significant turnout of women. No woman wants her child to grow up to be a suicide bomber.

The terrorists may have used a person with Down's Syndrome to act as a homicide bomber

That reminds me of my theory that the continuing supply of homicide bombers may be a result more of blackmail and threats to family than it is to religious fervor. As in, do this and your family will prosper. Refuse and you'll die last.

This just in from Mariam Fam at AP:
Security was tight. About 300,000 Iraqi and American troops were on the streets and on standby to protect voters, who entered polling stations under loops of razor wire and the watchful eye of rooftop sharpshooters.

Private cars were mostly banned from the streets, forcing suicide bombers to strap explosives to their bodies and carry out attacks on foot.

The terrorist insurgents are finding they're not the fish in the sea of the people. Without popular support, their "revolution" is going nowhere. When al Zarqawi turned loopy and told the Iraqi people to forget about freedom, he doomed his insurgency. I have a feeling its the beginning of the end of Iraq's troubles. Its pretty hard to fight a government armed with a massive popular mandate. That's why holding this election on time was so important and its also why the terrorist insurgents tried and failed to keep it from being held. I can hear the Iraqi Fat Lady warming up to sing.

Denny Crane: "I want two things. First God and then Fox News."

Proud to be an American today.

The part I played in this whole episode was tiny, but I am glad I did all I did.

More proud yet of Rumsfeld, Dr. Condo and the President.

And most proud of all, of the Iraqis themselves. "We hold these truths to be self-evident -- that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights..."

Some insurgency there, huh? Real good strategy for winning hearts and minds.

Insurgents, my backside.

Interesting fact. The number the Senior Traitor from MASS called to pull out of Iraq? Were the number of troops boosted to secure the elections, so they will be withdrawing anyway!

I've been channel hopping.
The most frequent words I hear

"impressive"

"solid performance"

"substantial showing for Iraqi security forces"

I think it's so good they can't spin it.

I think every American should show solidarity with the brave iraqi's that broadcast to the world that they voted by having a blue index finger. We should all either paint our finger blue,or get a blue rubber finger grip and wear it around to further irritate Ted Kennedy and his ilk, while voicing our joy and pride for the Iraqi people. Can you picture Ahrnold or Sean Hannity,President Bush, etc sporting blue fingers? AWESOME!!!!!!

NBC has How-weird Fineman on, he's gloomy, trying to say Bush crossed a low bar that he set. He does acknowlege that Iraq will be a on-going process. So mostly negative slanted and his last comment was that acknowlegement.

NBC report earlier started out pretty OK, but then Brian Williams came on and started with the negative spin. Said that in an interview they did with Allawi, Allwai wasn't able to answer about how the elections would turn out except in context of being in close association with the US.

HUH?!? WTH is that supposed to mean? But Brian came out to rain on the parade so I guess he's earned his dollar for the day. Wanker.

I'm off until later today. Carry on FReepers.
