Simply making a verbal threat to do something positive such as homeschooling one's own child is a pointless action to the ears of a school administrator. Action speaks much louder than a threat.
A school administrator may view a parent's threat to homeschool as coming from a parent who is still too insecure in their potential decision to homeschool, thereby taking away the power of the threat. Again, action speaks louder than words.

I agree that "the walk" is much more effective than "the talk". Although....many times threats
can be effective. Especially so...if the one who is making it, has a track record of following thru.
Whether it was "pointless" or not....I cannot tell at this junction of the story. I ask you, do you always know the answer you will get...before you make a statement or ask a question?
