First, sue the company.
Second, sue those liberals who love to sue Boy Scouts, arguing that without Boy Scouts many people would have died... :-)

And the court promptly impounded the Scouts' equipment. (I'm waiting for the second day pm story...)

Then, make a hefty donation of winnings to the BSA.

OK, not to disrespect the Boys Scouts, but they did what that he couldn't?

Hmm,,if they purposely lied about his whereabouts, the charges ought to be criminal, like attempted murder.

Diving in the Bahamas a couple years ago when the guide and us diving with him surfaced the boat was gone! Seems that the crew likes to go fishing while the divers are down. They arrived about 5 minutes after we surfaced.

Shudder.
I barely recovered from "Jaws".
You might think that after the "Open Water" movie, diving tour companies would be a little more careful...

Just saw Open Water.
The writers/producers got their idea from a true story of a couple who were left off the coast of Australia. The special features showed an article about it, and in the article it talked about another episode of a man who was left off the coast of Florida. The article said it happened infrequently. In both these cases, the divers were never found. This guy off of Catalina was very lucky.

I've been diving now for 12 years and I can tell you that these storys are the very rare exception to the rule. Most of the dives I have made in the Caribbean, have been close enough to shore that if the boat sank, you could swim to shore. Catalina is 26 miles off the coast. The couple in " Open Water " were diving on the Great Barrier Reef which is a 40 mile boat ride off the coast of Australia. My advice to any diver who is this far off coast is STAY WITH THE GROUP AT ALL TIMES.

Sounds like a "snipe hunt" or should I say squid hunt at sea.
Very dangerous to the hunter and not something I'd want to do.
But imagine being tethered to the boat only to find them leaving the scene - a ride like "Weekend at Bernie's."
Back to more coffee.

Open Water was a terrifying movie, more so since it was a true story.

It was terrifying. My 17 year old son walked out after 30 minutes. Of course, my husband leaned over to me and whispered, "Don't you want to get certified with me?"
/no innuendo intended.

This guy is a load of crap. You DO NOT get "skin cancer" in five hours in the sun. Cancer happens OVER TIME.
Leave it to the evil Boy Scouts to rescue him (sarcasm).
