A stunning 28-year-old actress died in her fiancé's arms yesterday after a Lower East Side thug answered her challenge — "What are you going to do, shoot us?" — by firing a single bullet into her chest, cops said

This girl deserves a Darwin Award.

This girl deserves a Darwin Award.

The girl has a lot of company on that. The last words of many murder victims is, "Go ahead, shoot!"

Yep!

Not just for what she said but also for the causes she championed.

Problem is none of her ilk will learn from this.

We'd written our wedding vows - fiance

When she was killed, Nicole duFresne was planning an October wedding as dramatic and spiritual as her life.
Surrounded by close friends and family in a meadow, with a Lakota Indian shaman standing by, she wanted to pledge her love to her fiance, Jeff Sparks

........

Just last month, duFresne had shared her hopes for the future with close friends at a winter solstice celebration in her home state of Minnesota.

Sipping vodka, Nicole, Sparks and childhood pals Piper Cook and Diane Przymus wrote their wishes and fears on slips of paper, shared them around and then tossed them in the fire.

DuFresne spoke movingly about her parents, who were no longer living together, and about being raped as a theater student at Emerson College years back.

Then the friends ate pomegranate seeds together - a ritual to represent the "beautiful things" they wanted.

Shamans, Winter Soltice, Planned Parenthood, Anti War activism ?

God liberal fruitcakes will make her their Patron Saint.

If anyone thinks I'm horrid for not being deeply mournful over this, two of my long time liberal friends in the city are doing all the mourning for me. ::rolls eyes::
