U.S. TRAVEL ALERT IRRITATES MEXICO ( SO WHAT! )
YAHOO NEWS ^ | 27 jAN 2005 | JOHN RICE

MEXICO CITY - A U.S. warning about violence along the border in Mexico created unexpected friction with a crucial neighbor Thursday, just as new Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) and other new members of President Bush (news - web sites)'s team are starting to take office.

The blunt warning was issued because of an upswing of killings and kidnappings linked to battles between drug gangs in towns along the Mexican side of the border, but Mexico's top Cabinet officer, Interior Secretary Santiago Creel, insisted that the warning "went too far."

-- snip --

U.S. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher defended the warning Thursday, saying 27 U.S. citizens have been abducted in Mexico's northern border region over the past six months and two have been killed. He said it was important to inform Americans about the security situation along the border.

"Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez called the statement "exaggerated and outside the scope of reality" and said Mexican leaders are demanding meetings to discuss the issue."

The return of the twenty-seven ( 27 ) kidnapped Americans to their families would be a good starting point - before any meetings take place on assuring the safety of American Citizens in that cockroach infested, sh!thole of the world.

What in hell did that stinking country do to have AP grossly abuse the English language by describing Mexico a "....crucial neighbor..." !?!?!?

The time is drawing near for the USA to annex Mexico; out of self-defense.

I had an aunt that lived in Mission Texas. Thirty years ago it was nothing to spend a day and night across the border shopping and dining. When I was Six we drove from Dallas to Mexico city on vacation and stayed a week with no problems.

You could not pay me enough to try either today.

Mexican archdiocese criticizes Arizona law limiting migrant benefits

All three branches of the federal government have mandated states must take responsibility for costs related to illegal aliens in our communities. This backbreaking financial burden is bankrupting states, who are being forced to deny American Citizens the very 'entitlements' provided people who have, by their presence, proven their disrespect for American law.

Repeat the below famous comment from the film "Network" at the office water cooler, when discussing this issue:

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!

U.S.: Kidnappings High Along Mexico Border

Be advised this is, IMO, a favorable spin ( as though that were possible ) to offset the impact of the AP story.

The proof of the pudding is the missing twenty-seven American Citizens. Ya can't put a spin on that, Mexico!!!

Mexican officials are complaining about the US travel alert. Thank you, State Department, it's about time!

Yes it does:

"Mexican officials seemed especially irritated by the emphatic manner of the U.S. alert: A formal announcement by the State Department was accompanied by the public release of a letter to Mexican officials by U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza - who is considered here to be a relatively close friend of Bush.

"Creel said the U.S. concern was legitimate and compared it to Mexican complaints - which are often criticized in the United States - about the treatment of Mexican migrants by U.S. authorities and anti-immigration group

The gall of the mexican gov and their ambassadors. They seem to like pushing around America and Americans! Pushing all of their trash unto our borders and encouraging their trash to come and rape our land!
