When you post, towards the bottom, in RED, is the statement...
Loose Lips Sinks Ships.
Miss that, or what?

"When you post, towards the bottom, in RED, is the statement... Loose Lips Sinks Ships. Miss that, or what?" No. I never miss it but a lot of people do. I don't know half the time if what I read it true or not but when I read something that telegraphs what an operational unit is going to do by unit designator, mission, location and time I have to take action to curtail it. You should too.

I agree with what you're saying. However, I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to our soldiers as "kids." As I don't know your age, I realize that someone in their twenties or thirties may seem like a kid to you. But my husband isn't a kid. He's a grown man who made a willful decision to serve his country. And I can honestly tell you that he's not frightened. I don't mean to flame you. It's just that descriptions like the one you made, although well-intentioned and innocent, help perpetuate the fallacious notion that our servicemen and women are misled children, instead of being the professionals that they are.

I think it's wonderful that this person took the time to give us a detailed reminder. Not a problem for me.
Great post Cornpone. Thanks.

Well put, AQGeiger. And please let your husband know how much we appreciate what he is doing for us all. May God keep him and all our service men and woman safe.

I accept you sentiments and sensitivity. Maybe times have changed a lot but I doubt it. In spite of the fact that 20, 30 or 40 somethings are kids to me, when I was on active duty almost everyone that served with me was under 21. Over 90 percent. I'm not talking about the professionals like me dear. I'm talking about the young kids like the one that made the serious mistake I witnessed tonight that placed their comrades at risk. Perhaps if they were under your husbands command it wouldn't have happened. God bless those who protect the innocent.

But my husband isn't a kid. He's a grown man who made a willful decision to serve his country.Very well said. Please pass along my thanks to your hubby from me for his service to our great country.
My prayers for his safe return home to you. My big brother served during the Vietnam era, so although I can't compare my experience to what you are dealing with, I do understand.
You are a very strong woman, and are handling your situation with grace and dignity. God bless you and yours.

but when I read something that telegraphs what an operational unit is going to do by unit designator, mission, location and time I have to take action to curtail it. You should too. Oh, please. Spare me your "I wanna be an intel monitor" crap.
And don't bother with any further psydo-lecture crap that makes you feel good.
I'm retired from the USAF and currently work for a defense contractor.
How do you know that a lot of people miss that warning?
That implies you know what is sensitive info or not.
You do not have a clue as to what is "sensitive info" or not.
Quit pretending like you do.
Maybe I missed something, but I would like to see an example of what you referenced in your post....I quote..."but when I read something that telegraphs what an operational unit is going to do by unit designator, mission, location and time I have to take action to curtail it."
What really PO's me about your post the lame line....
I have to take action to curtail it.
Do you feel better saying that? Does that make you feel really important, or what?
Is your name Tom Ridge? Jack Webb, what?
Find another topic to post about.

I'm retired Air Force also and I can say you are obviously a pontificating idiot. What I had pulled tonight was a string detailing a unit, a future mission, a date and a time...asking for prayers that they would survive the challenge they were going to face. If you think I'm going to spell out those details to you I suggest you go get a job in Tehran. And I also suggest whatever defense contractor you work for pull your clearance and fire you as a national security risk. Or are you one of them?

I'd say you should back off. Its a good reminder.
" I'm retired from the USAF and currently work for a defense contractor. "
Does this imply that you are mining information for the dems and you don't want warnings like this going out?
Don't rant at someone who cares enough to send a reminder.
BTW, thanks for the reminder, it was a good original post.

Cool it. You sound like a screaming lib. Cornpone meant no harm, so hold your fire. You're also the only one who has a problem with this thread. You're making an ass out of yourself. No offense, but you really are.

I had to smile when I read your post...My hubby is a 1sg for an Army Aviation Co(Chinooks)...he spent 15mos in Iraq...he always refers to all his troops(young and old, and some were older than him) as *his kids*....meaning only that he feels reponsible for every one of them...1sg's are always referred to as the *father of the company*....hence, the term kids.....no insult intended at all..

You need to go crawl back under the rock you came from, moron.
What I had pulled tonight was a string detailing a unit, a future mission, a date and a time...asking for prayers that they would survive the challenge they were going to face.
What kind of crap is that? You are blowing smoke, boy.
You pulled nothing, from anywhere...except maybe out of your butt.
The only thing you "pulled" was the pathetic attempt to inflate your ego.
And you imply that I am pontificating ?
As for the rest of your post, Tehran ?, my employer pull my clearance ?
Nice try.
There are those that live in the real world, and do real things......
Then there is your type.....on the outside looking in, not quite make the cut....and talking sh!t to make up for it.
Your type is a dime a dozen. Say hi to your buddy, JFK, for me....L...
