I can tolerate anyone who disagrees with me, no problem. I have a problem with someone thinking that it's okay for an adult to sleep with a minor, and making excuses for the folks that do it.

You're new, and you posted some pretty controversial comments. If you think someone isn't going to be suspicious, think again. That in no way implies that I am childish. Check yourself, friend.

This may be an adult board for adults, but when a male who is legally a man has sexual relations with a girl who is not of legal age to consent, the girl is prey, whether she behaves seductively or not, whether she has prior sexual experience with someone else or not.

The underage girl, unless she is an emancipated minor in the eyes of the law, has parents who are in charge of her well-being, including her mental and physical health and development. The intrusion of an affair with an adult man skews her natural progression into adulthood by exposing her to issues beyond normal adolescent experience, such as drinking, sexually transmitted diseases, the adult culture of the male, possible illegal drug use, distraction from school, alienation from parental authority--a host of negative experiences that are inimical to healthy maturation.

If it is a legal crime, then it is a crime.

Your original comments referred to 15 yos. Backing off?

Tell me, what's the difference between an 18 year old male and a 17 year old female?

What a ridiculous question. If you don't know, then I'm not going to tell you. You evidently need a birds and bees talk with your dad.

No, it's isn't....YOU need to get real, and pay attention. The problem is with 20+ year old men sleeping with 13,14, and 15 year olds. If you don't think that's a problem, then I think you're seriously whacked.

Are you a parent?

I wouldn't want to denigrate you unfairly with an inaccurate assessment...

Tell us, what's you view?

Try talking some sense, would you? Is there some middle ground here when a grown man sleeps with a minor? Understanding that there are seductive little girls in the world is not the same as excusing the behavior of an ADULT. The adult in that situation has to be responsible for what occurs. That's the law. If he didn't check ID's, well, that's too bad. Maybe he should, if he didn't want to go to jail. If you don't accept it, then perhaps you should be more clear, because as it stands now, you seem to think it's pretty hunky dory.

I'm really fried over that comment about 15 yos. Girls that age need protection. If men can't control themselves and leave those girls alone, they should just check into prison and save everyone a lot of grief.
