At the alternative schools here --- parents are required to take their kids to school -- personally -- and are required to pick them up after. The campuses are closed campuses --- the kids don't come and leave on their own --- probably a very good idea.

A Highschool?
What about a working mother? OR a busy one for that matter.

Hello,
My family moved from mid-MO to Scottsdale, AZ in Jan. 1981. For some stupid reason, I had to attend the local Alternative School for almost 3 weeks before going to the regular High School. (I think it had to do with when the next semester started, it was not because I was supposed to go there.) I was 15. Those few weeks scared the crap out of me. Where I came from, kids acted up, a few did drugs, but the kids at the Alternative School in AZ acted out constantly and a few took on the teachers violently. It was eyeopening, to say the least.
Glad to be here, MOgirl
