Police look for a third murder suspect in Reynolds case

Two teens are in custody in the death of an East Moline girl and police could be looking for a third suspect.

Cory Gregory, 17, Moline and Sarah Kolb, 16, Milan are charged with first-degree murder. They're accused of killing Adrianne Reynolds January 22.

Police say Reynolds was strangled and hit on the head with a wooden handle in a Moline restaurant parking lot. Her dismemberd body was found at Blackhawk State Park in Rock Island.

An autopsy was performed Thursday, but Rock Island County deputy coroner Brian Gustafson says the cause of death won't be released until the investigation is wrapped up.

Rock Island County State's Attorney Jeff Teronez says the victim and suspects were familiar with each other and there could be more arrests in the murder. Terronez says he can't talk about a possible motive until the case goes to trial.

Should have posted this story earlier. Initial reports indicated that Kolb & Reynolds went to Taco Bell with two males. One male has been arrested. I read another article--maybe last night/ maybe this morning--about the other male & something to the effect that he left the group when the beating started....& IIRC, this was a second hand account--according to what he'd told friends. If anyone else read this & has a link handy, please post...that is, IF you have time. ;-) Thank you!

This is not new. It was stated in the original post.

This account corroborates that Gregory has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. The question remains: Who is the other victim?

Sister Says Adrianne's Murder Left 'Big Space'in Family

KILGORE, Texas -- Adrianne grew up in Longview and Kilgore, Texas. She lived there with her mother until last November when she moved to the Quad Cities to live with her dad.

"It's hard when you lose anyone, but when they're that young it makes it a lot worse, said Adrianne’s grandfather, Gary Gibson.

Nine-hundred miles away in Kilgore, Texas near Dallas, Gibson found out his granddaughter is the victim of a brutal murder. He says the details of her gruesome death just seem unreal.

"I couldn't really believe it, that somebody could do something like that,” said Adrianne’s sister, Courtney Huffman. “It's hard to believe."

"Takes a while for it to sink in," said Gibson. "I can't imagine someone doing something this horrendous."

Courtney is also having a tough time accepting what happened.

"We used to give each other makeovers,” she recalled. “We listened to music."

Adrianne's mother left Texas Wednesday to help plan her daughter's memorial here in the Quad Cities. The rest of her family in east Texas is hanging on to their memories and planning a funeral service for her back home.

"I guess the word that comes to mind when I think of Adrianne is very outgoing,” said Gibson. “She liked people."

And they're all trying to deal with the pain.

"We used to have this big family and now I just feel like there's just a big space in it."
