If he was on the transit course (position and speed) per orders, he has no fault. Well... I've been one of the ones defending that removal isn't automatic.
BUT... there are a lot of big "IFs" in there. And I've read that he's already been removed from command, so it would seem there aren't enough ifs lining up his way.
The Navy is "personal responsibility" in SPADES, man.

"read that he's already been removed from command"Yes, he has been relieved of command but that is standard operating procedure for the Navy while there is an ongoing investigation. It doesn't necessarily mean that he's toast. He's needed by the investigators to answer questions, etc.

Just an observation: if a course was plotted that that sailed through dubious/unclear waters at a high speed, then who is at fault......
