Is it a good idea to give, via an interrogation method, fuel to the fires of anti Western propaganda? If we are trying to say, "we of the Western Judeo-Christian tradition are serious about this war," then I think that the use of something that speaks of hedonism is, while possibly effective for certain interrogations, a really bad idea in the bigger picture.

Their treatment of civilians: aircraft flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; videotaped beheadings.

Our treatment of legitimate prisoners:

Female interrogators tried to break Muslim detainees at the U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo Bay by sexual touching, wearing a miniskirt and thong underwear and in one case smearing a Saudi man's face with fake menstrual blood, according to an insider's written account.

I think I'm pretty comfortable with the world watching this one.

Please. If we had anything close to Omerta within our intel and military services this story wouldn't even be known. I thinks it is a good and effective tactic. If they were normal men rather than insance barbarians, such a tactic wouldn't even work. The lack of discipline and secrecy in our Nat'l Security apparatus is the real threat.
