No one was injured when Fort Sumter was fired on. But it was fired on because the feds refused to leave a fort that no longer belonged to them. Lincoln left other federal forts. He refused to vacate Fort Sumter expressly for the purpose of forcing the Confederacy to fire the 1st shot. War was not supported in the North and Lincoln needed PR to whip up war fever.

While you might be able to "get over" a grave injustice, I am not. I guess you would tell the Scots to get over that William Wallace fellow.

The '56 flag is the real flag because it is the real flag in the heart of real Georgians. Like I said before, it should be supported precisely because the enemy opposes it.

I am aware of the history of the '56 flag. You are aware of dogma that you have been brainwashed by the enemy to believe. And you are reacting like the perfect self loathing Southerner they are trying to create. I do not believe in segregated public schools. I don't believe in any public schools. But Brown was wrongly Constitutionally decided. It was a decision based on bad sociology instead of Constitutional law and it was ground zero in the activist judicial decisions that are destroying this country. Without Brown there would be no Roe. Those who fought that decision, even if sometimes wrongly motivated, should be respected for their prescience.

You admit in your post that the flag is divisive. That is my entire point, and the bottom line. In my view a flag should be a uniter and not a divider period.
