Its pretty hard to accuse Putin of antisemitism when his own Prime Minister that he appointed is Jewish.

Oh don't worry, they'll accuse him of it none the less. Why bother with facts like 19 idiots in the Duma (out of 450 questionables :0) ) put an anti-Semtic proposition out and are two days later forced by the others to take it back and that these 19 make up 4% of the Duma. Why bother with little details when so many communists journalists are looking for a hit piece angle to hit Putin with. After all, considering the tax and heavy pro-capitalist changes he's put in and made work, how could the MSM not hate him?

I'm not terribly optimistic about anybody's pledge to "counteract" anti-Semitism. The only real way to do it is to acknowledge the Jewish G-d and Torah and the mission of Israel, which violates every tenet of liberalism (including liberal Jews). So instead what we get is rhetoric stressing the "tolerance" of "otherness," which is then appropriated by everyone who is, or claims to be "other" (including the poor oppressed moslems).
There are even Orthodox Jews who reject Religious Truth as the answer to anti-Semitism and insist that this will not happen until Mashiach comes. In a sense they're right (since it is only in the Messianic era that the Kingdom of G-d will become manifest), but what are we to do in the meantime? Embrace liberal secularism? In that case we'll have to decriminalize murder as well as abortion and homosexuality, since they are all religious taboos.

Sharon seems to like Putin a great deal. He made sure that Russian military were brought to Israel and taught special anti-terrorist training.
Kids who survived the Beslan massacre were invited to Israel and hosted for a number of activities, including counseling for trauma.
Israel was the first and most active country to reach out to Russia after the Beslan massacre.
In Moscow now, children are being taken to synagogues to "plant" good relationships.

Russia today is nothing like it was 20 years ago.
20 years ago, Nathan Sharansky was in a Soviet prison. Today when he visits Russia he receives a VIP welcome.
20 years ago, American Jews were not allowed to visit Russia, or if they did come as tourists, they were followed around by the KGB to make sure they did not engage in "anti-Soviet activity."
20 years ago, Jews were forbidden by law to establish new synagogues, circumcise their sons, educate their children in Jewish schools, slaughter animals for kosher meat, build mikvaot (ritual baths), train rabbis. Today Jews have all these freedoms with the enthusiastic blessing of the government.
Anyone who believes that Jewish life in Russia is worse today than it was 20 years ago, needs a serious reality check.

The problem is that their hatred of Russia or Putin blinds them to all realities other then the fantasy one they choose to believe.
