Fascinating. I thought the movie, CONTACT, itself was strangely defending religious experience against the reductionism of science. I kept scratching my head saying, "an atheist wrote this?"

Are you saying that the second Person of the Trinity has always had a human nature? Yes or no, please.

Was there ever a time when Jesus didn't have a human nature?
To: Northern Yankee
As Mr Spock would say "fascinating"

Never read Contact, in fact Sagan tends to annoy me. I might have to check this out.

Jesus is 4 1/2 billion years old? No orthodox approach to Christology would make that claim.

At the end of the book the hero has moved on and is looking at DNA. She applies the same techniques to DNA as she had to the radio signal and basically finds a picture with a sign saying "start here." Sagan says he didn't intend to write that scene, but something just pushed him to do it when he was typing. He never could explain what he'd meant by it or why he'd put it in. Interesting. Thanks.

Sorry I am not buying that. Then what about the mountain of evidence that points to the Shroud's authenticity? Do you just ignore that?
It seems more reasonable to me to believe that the one countervailing piece of evidence is somehow erroneous.

I am sorry, but you are wrong, and Romulus is right. "Jesus" (the Word Made Flesh) began to exist at a specific moment in human history, roughly 2009 years ago.

You are free to repeat your claim until all bandwidth is exhausted, but your claim is still wrong.
