Lately, there have been the increase of people who bitterly complain that they can not going anywhere and completely stuck. Economy is really bad and social situation is far from stable. Anxiety level is high. Suicide rate skyrocketed.

Most popular solution they talk about is to immigrate to "better" country. Many of these people are young, and tend to be anti-American at home. Still, they have almost blind faith that "America" is better place to live. Even hardcore anti-American and pro-N. Korea lefties bail to America when things gets too hot socially or politically.

Yeah, they still love their "genius" president Roh Moo-hyun, too.

To these people, America is a unrealistic abstraction, which can be a bountiful land of promise or a land of imperialist brutes. Depending on the situation, they take the one and ignore the other. America can be a pretty convenient thing.
