They think it may have "got lower." And if the expedition proves otherwise, I bet we never hear a retraction story.

Untrue.

Since this story is "Everest Shrinks Because Global Warming Melting the Peak", there will be a story "Everest Grows Because Global Warming Raises Seas, Pushing Everest Higher."

ALL things are caused by Global Warming.
