Boeing Unit Sues Mysterious Arms Dealer (and guess who was murdered in Iraq last week !!)

WASHINGTON, Nov 16 - Russia's X-31 anti-ship missile is a devastating weapon. Capable of traveling at 2,000 mph, the 15-foot missile skims over the ocean until it slams into its target and explodes. It also can be modified to seek out and destroy radar systems, such as those used to guide the U.S. military's Patriot missiles, defense analysts say.

For years, the U.S. military has sought to develop an effective defense against the X-31. In 1999, Boeing Co. announced in St. Louis that it had won an $18.8 million contract from the Navy to acquire 34 of the Russian missiles and modify them to test the effectiveness of U.S. ship defense systems. But Boeing's efforts stalled as Russian officials, who once seemed ready to sell to the United States balked.

Stymied in Moscow, Boeing sought help from an obscure weapons dealer, Dale C. Stoffel, who sought to buy the missiles through contacts in Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Russia itself, documents show. Now, those efforts also have largely failed, culminating in a courtroom dispute over $6 million that reveals the lengths to which Boeing went in its bid to acquire the X-31.

Dale C. Stoffel

This is the same guy murdered in Taji, Iraq last week.

Zamb Times

In June, McDonnell Douglas sent a letter demanding the return of the $6 million. Stoffel, Wye Oak's president, refused.

Washington Post

In December, Stoffel began to complain about not being paid and expressed concerns that the way Iraqi officials were handling finances could lead to problems

This is not just some random Jihadist murder. I reckon a hit was put out on him/them. We shall see what the FBI determines.

Flash #2.... dealing with gathering intelligence involves connecting with shadowy and unsavory characters; sometimes even *gasp* nations hostile to us.
And it doesn't always go smoothly.

because of September 11, and because there was a meeting /between the Russian and U.S. presidents/ in Ljubljana - there is an absolutely new reality, which makes the present-day reality different from the 1991 situation," he said.

Go to the Washington Post article of Jan 21. This correction has been posted to the article.

Correction to This Article
A Jan. 21 article incorrectly said that the Defense Department is investigating the killings of two U.S. contractors in Iraq. The department is looking into a congressman's request to assist the victims' company in receiving payment for a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

News flash... neither are many Americans...those in government who pander to our enemies
those in business who sell to our enemies and those who propagandize for our enemies
sake..

It's amazing what a nation can survive with God on it's side...and how fast it can die without Him.

imo

This is also known as "Sunburn". Iran is in posession of numerous sunburn's, which is why we are treading lightly. Any sea vessels used in an Iranian conflict will surely be targeted, and more than likely destroyed.

From my recollection on the sunburn, it is accurate, super fast, and highly potent. There is no known defense for this missile. Do a search on Sunburn and Iran and you will find some interesting information on this.

Just read up on those "Sunburn's". Awesome weapon. I thought they had been too quiet to not have been up to no-good.

I suspect you are right. Note he was killed by deliberate head on collision followed by multiple bullet wounds. Sounds more like a Serbian assassination than a normal Iraqi insurgents attack.

I think those monkey's thought they may get away with people thinking it was an "accident' if they used a car instead of their trusty AK47's. Knowing how notoriously inept they are at everything except beheadings and cold blooded murder on bound, defenceless innocents, I am surprised they did not forget to strap on seat-belts and end up through the windscreen and on the road. Dirt worshipping Muppets.
