We invite and request your prayers every day this week for the Iraqi elections on Sunday. This is a pivotal event in World history, and a vitally important one for our country and administration as well. Please pray for the safety of all those, including our brave military, who are putting themselves at risk to make this election happen.
Pray for a huge turnout, and that Iraqi voters are kept safe from those who would intimidate and frighten in order to perpetuate their evil.
I feel absolutely certain that our President is praying about this event and for his brave soldiers daily. While he probably would not choose to call publicly for prayer, I feel that he would be overjoyed and strengthened to have Americans and people of faith all over the world join him in this.
Please pass this along to others that you know who would like to informally join us in this prayer vigil.
Prayers, y'all.
Hmmm. . . I wonder if someone will do a live thread on election day?
DITTO-WE ARE ONBOARD!
Thanks for the ping, Jeff. You can count on our family praying.
I pray the Iraqis have tremendous courage in the face of evil, much as the El Salvadorans and Afghans did.
I also ask God to allow our U.S. and coalition forces to safely and successfully execute their missions to attack, deter and eventually destroy the network of terrorists.
THANKS. I agree and claim that, as the minister prayed at the Inauguration, "THAT NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST THEM WOULD PROSPER" and I claim that truth, in Jesus' Name.
God Bless America and Israel and Iraq!
America and Israel and Iraq (and others) -- BLESS and HONOR GOD!

Oh, thank you, JustaCowgirl, for starting this prayer vigil this morning. I was looking for it yesterday, and realized it fell by the wayside Monday evening. But I did my own thing praying yesterday.
Reading everyone's comments and prayers brings tears to my eyes.
Thank you, all!
God's will be done.
Amen and thank you for reminding us of Kirbyjon Caldwell's wonderful prayer, Blurblogger. We invite your prayers, here or privately, throughout this week.
May God be with and shield those who want to vote and may He help our soldiers and theirs who are designated to protect the voters.
May His will be done.
I have been and will continue praying for the Iraqi elections, the Iraqi people, and the soldiers involved.
Got word last night that a dear friend's husband is back in Iraq with the 3ID. That makes 4 friends who have spouses over there. My heart feels heavy this morning. Thank you all for praying for their safety.
As difficult as their job is, I believe and understand that our military in Iraq are proud of their role in this momentous election, as well they should be.
There are events on which the anvil of history turns. This is one of those events. Our military should all be proud of their role in this election, and proud of how they are representing their country.
