Thank you....glad you enjoyed it. :-)
FR can sure throw a party, huh? It just ended too soon. I am ready to go back in 2009. :-)
Looking forward to seeing your photos.
Thank you, Colleen. I'm not sure what it is that has me under the weather...... I think I just got over-tired and chilled. After I get back on California time, I think I will feel much better. Jet lag was really bad this time.
I don't know if I told you, but I was asking everyone at the Ball, "have you seen deadhead?". I was told you were there and I was NOT leaving the Ball until I found you. As it turned out, it was you who found me. LOL.
I enjoyed getting to meet you and your sister and am looking forward to 2009. I will be back. :-)
Yeah, finally one that isn't huge and scarey. ;-) LOL.
HUGS!
I am already planning my 2009 DC trip. Hope to be celebrating four more years of Republican leadership. :-)
Sistah hugs!
So glad you can see them now. See, you needn't have worried about how you looked. You are cute as a bug in a rug....especially in your elephant slippers. And I didn't retouch you at all, except for removing a teeny bit of shine in one of the photos, and turbojet's glass-glare in another. ;-)
Hope your mom recovers quickly from her ailment.
Multitasking in high gear today, family descending before noon Friday - whew - so many chores - so little time!
I did want to say to all of you who participated on the thread yesterday how very deeply I appreciated it.
The Free Republic Family is like no other, responding from all over America to support and encourage one another.
I thank God for you, and ask Him to richly bless each and every one of you.
Not really, as it turned cooler as the day wore on.
Take care, special person. :-)
(((((((Maggie)))))))
I'm really bummed now.........I saw both of those people.
I am SO angry with myself.
Mama_bear and MUD took the only 2 decent pictures of me Thursday night...............and I never took a picture of either of them.
I've been kicking myself for that omission since.
And BTW, cute is an understatement describing our MUD, that man is down right hunky gorgeous.............and I'm a heck of a lot older than he is!!!!!
I wish I had met you at the Ball.
But I totally understand...........there were so many of us, we each could only meet so many.
I LOVE your pictures.
"Thank you for providing these glimpses of some known, and others whose faces we've not seen before. It compensated somewhat for our not being able to be there"
Ditto here. LOL, and it's such a shame because I live 10 blocks from there. But I was cold, cold cold from being out all day in the inaugural. Sigh, when you live in DC, you always say "I'll go see that next year" -- but who knows if there will be a Guiliani inauguration in 4 years? So I too appreciated the photos -- it was very cool to see Lori's best photos here.
Hi Lori and Amy...A quick in and out....What a fun thread. I thought about you lots this week. So glad it turned out well... Clearly I'm out of the loop...need the story behind the most beautiful child named Marissa I've ever seen... Amys????
Thanks for the beautiful thread you two. So glad you had a great time and hope I can join you next time. Ilene
They were fantastic! Everyone who went to the last Inaugural Ball said they were a great band, and they certainly surpassed my expectations. They really know how to get a room rockin'.
Hope you are tip top before long.
Thanks, I am feeling a bit better, I think.
You really put your love for us in this presentation.
Well, thank you. What a sweet thing to say. :-)
Hi dutchess. Marissa is Amy's little great (grand?) niece, but she calls Amy "grandma". She is a joy and seemed to thoroughly enjoy her trip to DC. The two and a half hour wait in line taxed her patience (AND ours), but most of the time she was an angel.
Marissa was a perfect little lady at tea with FReezie. She seemed to sense that the Ritz is not a place where she should play with her food. LOL.
It's hard to remember to take photos when you are caught up in the excitement of being there and socializing. The only reason I remembered to is because I didn't want to come home and have to face Billie with no photos for this thread. LOL!
More than enough photos were taken of me anyway. I am not photogenic, never have been.
