I hear of plenty on crime in Cancun, I have been a half dozen times, but have put all of Mexico on my do not visit list. I was thinking revisiting Chicken pizza and Tulum again, but not now.

Wife and I used to go down to Ixtapa or Huatulco for four or five days, then fly up to Oaxaca for a couple days of real Mexico. We'd been to Mexico City for the museum, pyramids, etc but never went back after we saw cops with shotguns (some had tommy guns) at almost every corner in the Pink Zone.
