That can't possibly be correct. Afghanistan has a population of a bit over 28.5 million, and I would guess that 28 million of them are Muslim. If 28 million Americans were Muslim, that would mean that close to 10% of Americans are Muslim, when the actual percentage is probably between 1%-2%.

I only posted the letter since the original poster did not. I don't vouch for the information; indeed I am inclined to agree with you. But perhaps we secretly eliminated a chunk of that 28 million down to 2 or 3 million. Then you'd have to agree.
