I have a fool proof way to balance the budget. Stop all congressional pay raises until the budget is balanced, SS is well financed into 2100, and the debt is starting to be paid down. I figure this will take about 2 or 3 weeks once we give the lying, thiefing, dirtballs in Washington this motivation.

Why limit just the raises? I say we cut all salaries off, period, until they get their act together.

"SS is well financed into 2100, and the debt is starting to be paid down."

This is incorrect. SS has zero funds. The debt is NOT being paid down, and the govt budget is the largest and has the biggest deficit (measured by difference between Govt. income and spending) in history. That you would think otherwise is bizarre?

My plan is similar, put all elected officials on commission. Pay them a percentage of the GDP minus percentages for the trade deficit, unemployment, the interest rate, and a percentage of the deficit. They would not be getting paid now and would not start seeing a check until things improve. If the country does great, their pay will be deservedly high.
