Right, most of the people were just putting up with the leftists' antics without commenting.
After bmwcyle, I, and a few others started ridiculing the leftists, more people felt that they could follow their instincts without fear of attack. They joined in and verbally attacked the leftists.

Were the anarchists throwing the broken PVC and snowballs mainly at the regular (i.e., non-leftists) people waiting at the gate or at the police? Did the PVC hit anyone and injure them, as far as you could tell? The snowballs (iceballs) seemed to be thrown at random into the crowd waiting to go through the security checkpoint. It would have been impossible for them to miss, because the crowd was so thick. The PVC was thrown at the crowd closest to the throwers. At one point I did see one of those low metal crowd barriers upended, as if they were going to throw it too, but I suspect it was too heavy. I didn't see that anyone was injured. People with kids and others did their best to get out of the intersection, and I recall that people moved aside to allow them safe passage. The crowd around me remained orderly and there was no panic. Lots of comments about the "a@@holes" throwing things, though. Lots of people were taking pictures!

Hope that you've listened to yourself in some of the audio files. You really frustrated the leftists.

"Unfortunately, many (most?) FReepers are too conservative (referring to tactics, not ideology)to demonstrate. Demonstrating is an in-your-face expression of political belief that is foreign to most conservatives. They often consider protests or demonstrations undignified, rude, or intemperate. Sometimes demonstrations are indeed undignified, rude, or intemperate, but I think we do a good job of avoiding those pitfalls." I couldn't agree more. 'Pod.

Which event are you referring to in post #54? Is it the one in front of the WaPo?

Right you are.
After the event some leftists claimed (IndyMedia or DU forget which) that we were paid by the WashPost. Truly they exist in a bizarro world.
