Zarqawi is incapable of stopping or even inflicting wide-spread harm on the elections next Sunday. Even if he hasn't been captured by then, at most he'll set off a few car bombs and lob a few mortars.
Frankly, if you can count the bombs and mortars, then it's probably not much of a war.

Finally, desperation.
To: tbird5
I think he's quite desperate to see his efforts to cancel or delay the election aren't working. There are at least two polls that say next week's election will have high turn out. Perhaps, unlike what we read in US newspapers, the Iraqis feel excited about it.

Zarqawi pledges war on Iraq electionsHold it! *tweet*
Back up the bus!
Since Zarqawi was captured either one, two, three or six weeks ago (as of yesterday), and is presumably in prison, does that mean that he gets prison furlough during the day to go do his regular job?

al-Zarqawi cosiders himself and his followers to be the only "true gods".

"Candidates in elections are seeking to become demi-gods...."All the while, he seeks to be judge, jury, and executioner. Sounds like Al-Z doesn't just want to be a demi.....but a full-fledged god himself.

It's his war on truth, justice, and the American way. He also hates motherhood, apple pie, and Chevrolet. In fact, I'll bet he even hates his own mutha.....

President Bush: "They hate us because of our freedom."
Zarqawi: "We have declared a bitter war against the principle of democracy and all those who seek to enact it"
Any questions?

I remember seeing it....don't remember who posted it. I also recall a Jer Post thread on the rumor, but they never said it was fact. I guess his days are numbered in any case. Just a matter of whether it is a large number or a small number, eh?
To: cripplecreek
I hope he dies a long slow slow slow slow painful death.
