Looks like CIA is getting a thrashing in Washington for the intelligence failures pre-9/11.

No one trusts them anymore.

Fantastic News! CIA sucks! Go Rummy. But first, prove it works by finding the @sshole that leaked this to the Washington Post and kill them in their sleep!

"Slam dunk."

That was Tenet on WMD in Iraq. That one statement may have
been the final element in the Bush admin decision to enter
Iraq. Yes, WMD wasn't the only reason, but if the CIA
hadn't been so "sure", would we have the same outcome?

The question about this is why:
- the CIA might have been merely incompetent, or
- they may have deliberately set-up Bush.

What Rummy is presently doing is consistent with
either answer.

Great News!

Rummy is taking the bull by the horns, which is needed, if we are to fight the terrorists effectively.

"Rumsfeld's ambitious plans rely principally on the Tampa-based U.S. Special Operations Command, or SOCOM, and on its clandestine component, the Joint Special Operations Command. Rumsfeld has designated SOCOM's leader, Army Gen. Bryan Brown, as the military commander in chief in the war on terrorism. He has also given Brown's subordinates new authority to pay foreign agents.

The Strategic Support Branch is intended to add missing capabilities — such as the skill to establish local spy networks and the technology for direct access to national intelligence databases — to the military's much larger special operations squadrons."

Well, certainly nobody trusts the pre-Porter Goss CIA. And we can't wait for Porter Goss to fix the CIA before knocking over Iran's mullahs. The alternative is an invasion at least 3X as costly as Iraq.

If the CIA couldn't do it correctly, what makes you think that Rummy will do any better?

The SSB reports directly to Rummy.

The rats can do the same down the road, whether we do this now or not.

Your kidding right? Rummy has essentually FORMED his own CIA, because his CIA will kill people,! The CIA has become politically correct pussy-whiped incompetant clowns who have proven that they will work against this administration and our country. It'll take Porter Gause years to get the CIA cleaned out of the rats and back online. Rummy aint afraid to kill enemies and kill them now!

The RATS led us down the road to 9/11.

Are you suggesting we do nothing, just in case they get another chance?
