Do you happen to have any video of any of Dick Shawn's appearances on the Tonight Show?

He did a monologue in the 70's called "Why I like bananas" that had me in tears rolling on the floor. Literally. I never saw it again and could never find a transcript. Not that it would be the same....with Dick Shawn, the delivery was everything.

It wasn't one of the ones on the Best of Carson videos.

I loved Dick Shawn. He has his immortality in two films:

Mel Brooks The Producers, where he played Lorenzo St. DuBois (L.S.D.), the actor who played Hitler in the musical play, Springtime for Hitler (great stoner part)

Sylvester Marcus in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (another stoner - do I detect a trend?)
