That isn't to say that this might info be true, but the Times is hardly indepentent of dispassionate here.

It just might be that they (and the rest of Washington MSM) are professionally embarrassed by the job blogger Stephan Sharkansky has done in unearthing the "irregularities" in the King County election process.
He's been single-handedly doing their job.
