The President, First Lady and their parents relaxed at the White House today. Former President GHW Bush visited the press corps on duty in the WH press briefing room.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: This week, Washington has been marked by pomp and circumstance. In a free nation, these ceremonies are more than pageantry. They underscore that public office is a public trust. America's elected leaders derive their authority from the consent of the American people, whom we serve. This is a high privilege, and that privilege carries a serious responsibility: to confront problems now, instead of passing them on to future generations.
As long as I hold this office, I promise that I will serve all Americans and will work to promote the unity of our great nation. And working together, we will secure the blessings of liberty, not only for ourselves, but for generations of Americans to come.
President George W. Bush, Presidential Radio Address, Jan. 22, 2005.

I was enraged all over again when that creep IMUS brought up Edwards' comment at the debate.
Evil is all around us, and the left is leading the way.

Oh dear, we are expecting those 50 MPH winds here and we ARE having snow too. The temp was 3 this morning but now it's up to 8........a heat wave.
We worry about the power too.

Bless him, indeed. I heard C-SPAN's CD of their inauguration coverage is expensive.

Jeb's daughter has to want to help herself before others can help her. That's what I hope for -- that she finds it within herself to turn her life around.

Very glad to see Cheney's beautiful daughters there. Excellent taste in dress. The VP's daughters are, indeed, beautiful. I thought the Cheney grand kids were darling, walking with their grandparents in the inaugural parade and waving to the crowd.

Hope you are counting the girls too! Any one of them could be elected to public office. You betcha! I was very impressed by both Liz Cheney and Doro Bush at a W for Women event during the campaign.
