NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico -- Brenda Cisneros, 23, kissed her father goodbye after dinner in Laredo, Tex., just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 17. It was her birthday, and she was headed with a friend, Yvette Martinez, for a late-night concert across the border. The two drove across the international bridge into this sprawling town, famous for dancing and drinking spots. They never returned home.

Jerry Contreras, 17, left San Antonio one day last May and drove across the border into Piedras Negras to attend a baby shower. There, witnesses said, he became involved in a minor accident with a gold SUV, whose enraged driver rammed Contreras's Ford Escort, followed him to the party and threatened him. Contreras ran and hid in a grocery store, but several armed men dragged him out. He has not been seen since.

Imagine how much wind would be sucked out of their sales if they lost marijuana as a smuggling crop. If we are going to have laws against pot smuggling, we have to enforce them. Not doing so just leads to the rise of criminal organizations on both sides of the border. Either enforce or legalize, but don't quasi-enforce and let the problem fester all along the border.

Ah, Vincente's way of decreasing the American citizen population to make room for more illegals.

The US Dept. of State DOES NOT offer a "Travel Warning" alert to American Citizens regarding travel into the criminally corrupt and unsanitary country of Mexico. THIS is an issue the federal government MUST correct.

American Citizens MUST be informed by their government about cities in Mexico which are notorious in their treachery.

To refuse this service is to disregard the primary purpose of the State Department - the safety of American Citizens - traveling into a criminally corrupt and unsanitary country.

Travel Warnings are issued when the State Department alerts American Citizens to avoid certain countries.

"The countries listed below are currently on that list. In addition to this list, the State Department issues Consular Information Sheets for every country of the world with information on such matters as the health conditions, crime, unusual currency or entry requirements, any areas of instability, and the location of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in the subject country.

"The American Consulate office in Matamoros, Mexico (across the border from Brownsville, Texas) has issued a new travel advisory to Americans traveling to the Mexican Border State of Tamaulipas.

In the normal course of events, Americans rely on a tight-lipped federal State Department, and not some hole-in-the-wall consulate office in that sh!thole of the world, to alert them to the dangers of travel into that country's cockroach infested, criminally corrupt cities that are absent the most rudimentary of sanitary standards.

Nothing has changed. Do not look to the State Department for any help if your spouse, child, or relative disappears. We American Citizens are expendable. Big money always overrides consideration for the welfare and well being of the Citizens of our country.

Recall America's outrage at the torture death of undercover DEA agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. The appearance of concern and action by the federal 'Justice' Department, CIA and State Department was given a lot of undeserved press attention.

"When teams of DEA agents were sent to Mexico, first, to find the missing Kiki, then to hunt for his murderers, they were met by a the stone wall of a corrupt Mexican government that refused to cooperate. To the horror and disgust of many of us, our government backed down from the Mexicans; other interests, like NAFTA, banking agreements and the covert support of Ollie North's Contras, were more important than the life of an American undercover agent. DEA agents were ordered by the Justice Department, to keep our mouths shut about Mexico; an order that was backed up by threats from the office of Attorney General Edwin Meese himself. Instead of tightening restrictions on the Mexican debt, our Treasury Department moved to loosen them as if to reward them for their filthy deed. As an added insult Mexico was granted cooperating nation in the drug war status, giving them access to additional millions in American drug war funds and loans."

If the federal State Department had the safety of American Citizens as their primary interest, there should be a complete ban on travel to Mexico. Mexico is not a friend of the American Citizen.

I caught "consulate" too late. Ah, well, I guess they're only doing the job the State Dept. refuses to do. I don't know whether to get my hopes up that Condi will be able to change anything there or not.

It's really a damn shame our own government can not be relied upon to look out for our well being in that scumbucket called Mexico. A hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil policy toward the source of America's drug problem is a national foreign policy disgrace.

HERE IN AMERICA EVERYBODY CARRIES ON AS THOUGH KIDNAPPING AND KILLING AMERICANS, and SHOOTING AT OUR BORDER PATROL, and CROSSING THE BORDER IN MILITARY ASSAULT UNITS IS JUST FINE, and WE DON'T DEMAND THAT BOTTOM FEEDER CREDENT Fox STOP PRINTING PAMPHLETS TO ASSIST CRIMINAL TRESPASSERS IN FLAUNTING AMERICAN LAW. INSTEAD WE INVITE THE BASTARD TO NEGOTIATE ON AMERICAN SOIL WITH STATE LEVEL POLITICIANS TO SPEND EVEN GREATER AMOUNTS OF OUR TAXDOLLARS TO SUPPORT THE IGNORANT MASSES HE'S PUSHING OVER OUR BORDER.

Mexico is spitting in our face when it comes to our national sovereignty, and make no attempt to hide their contempt and hatred for the 'gringo' visiting Mexico.

That sh!thole is retaking the land we either bought from them ( California ) or the land we took as war bounty ( Texas ). Some border towns have declared Mexican as the town's official language. And Bush could care less.

This is an important article for anyone going into Mexico to read. It's like going into an inner city known for violence --- chances are you will get out alive --- but be prepared for the worst, use caution with taxis and don't drive over there.

So far it looks like most of the "Americans" getting killed are those dual citizen types --- still going back because o their closer ties to Mexico than America and many of them are closely involved with the drug cartels.

For our government to have come out with this warning means things really are getting quite bad --- but anyone living along the border knew they were bad --- I know Mexicans who won't go back over even to visit their families and friends --- one co-worker was very shaken because at a family party a drive-by happened and a bullet went through her hair and into the fence behind her --- she's one who won't go back any more to visit.

Not that many real Americans are at too much risk though yet --- because if you stick close to the 2 or 3 blocks with the tourist shops likely nothing will happen. It's stupid to venture beyond those --- but most people already know that and most Americans have no interest in Mexico beyond those tourist shops.
