You forgot to mention in your list of Senator Byrd's
accomplishments that he was instrumental in giving away the
Panama Canal. I learned my lesson and have never voted for
him since then. WV will soon be a part of the solid South,
politically. Byrd has had no clout in the last 3 elections.
He tried to keep Shelly Moore Capito out of Washington
and look where she is. Same with George W.
Democrats are clueless.......This action is not going to change anything, all it does is alienate the black vote upon which they are totally dependent. They can not win dog catcher without it. Strategic mistake.
