I don't think there are any ancient versions of the story of Medea that has her cooking and eating her own children. The most familiar version of the story is Euripides' one, where she kills her children by Jason in order to punish Jason for ditching her in favor of another woman. She uses poison to kill them, so it wouldn't have been safe to eat their bodies. Apparently there were earlier versions of the story which had her kill her children inadvertently, or else had them killed by the Corinthians.

Greek myths tend to be preserved in a lot of variant versions. A very good source is a book by Timothy Gantz, Early Greek Myth: A Guide to Literary and Artistic Sources (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1993). Gantz was a professor at the University of Georgia but died in January of last year.

There is a famous myth about Atreus killing Thyestes' children and serving them to Thyestes at a banquet, who eats their flesh without realizing it is the flesh of his own children. Atreus was the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus; Thyestes' son Aegisthus later has an affair with Clytemnestra while Agamemnon is at Troy, and the two of them kill Agamemnon when he returns.

Pink skirts - pink ties. Over the last year many democrats and newsmen wore pink ties. I felt there was a connection or statement being made. (until my very favorite news commentator wore a pink tie - once)).
