THIS kind of dog trial:
What a sweetie!
In the NW Philly burbs. I was living SW of Carlisle on South Mountain during the President's Day Storm - we got about 30 inches - and had some nitwits decide to hike along the Appalachian Trail to a shelter a few miles from where we lived. They had to be rescued by snowmobile when they started getting frostbite.
Hey! Thats my Folks Place in Palm Springs! LOL!
Of course, I think she's the neatest little dog on four paws.
She's a sweetie, as are you, for treating her so kindly, AAM. Kudos.
I hope you're headed home.
This won't be a 'few' inches of snow for most big cities either, probably one of the bigger events since Jan 96. I average over 100" here in CT, but I still smile when it falls.
Bring your towell, the water is great, weather warm!
Yep, we WNY'ers are always prepared. Glad I went shopping yesterday. Other than shovel some snow this weekend, not goin' anywhere for anything! I live in snow country (south of Buffalo). Where do you live?
"One year in the 1970's we got a bad April blizzard that caused us to be w/o power for a few days and we cooked off of a portable gas stove and slept around the fire place in our snow suits, but other then tornados, that's the worst weather I recall.
I think the same year Buffalo NY got hit worse and they talked about loading up frieght cars with snow and sending the train south."
Chautauqua County, nuclady... south of Mayville, and on the east side of the lake...
We have a 500 foot driveway, all uphill. Biggest problem is getting the car up it before a storm hits so the plow can come dig us out afterwards...
Good luck east coast. My little corner of paridise in Lake Arrowhead, CA got nailed and several folks lost their houses. I suffered several thousand dollars in dammange to my property.
I am praying for you all. God Bless.
We checked out of our DC-area hotel a day early, and headed for home ASAP. The storm is due to hit that area tomorrow morning. If we stuck with our original plan to stay until Saturday afternoon, we would've followed the storm from DC up to Connecticut during our 7+ hour drive tomorrow. No thanks...
Dutchy and RaceBannon are home, but I'm worried about some other Tri-Staters who are still down there. Tomorrow will surely be tough drive back north...
18+ inches of snow plus high winds forecast for us here in northern CT tomorrow. >:-(
Woohooo!
I'm so jealous.
I'm sorry to hear that. :( I've been wondering how it was when you went up there.
Well, it has been snowing HARD here in downtown Chicago for hours.
The city is pretty much grinding to a standstill.
I don't have any doubt that we will have well over a foot on the ground by morning. And it is supposed to continue on into tomorrow afternoon!
