Another distribution that has been getting a lot of
good press lately is
Ubuntu, which is a nice little, speedy, debian-based distro. Also, if you go to their site, you may request copies be mailed to you via USPS--no postage or handling, either. Fill out the form, and they will send it to you free.

I forgot to mention that along with the CD they send you, they also send you a copy of their LiveCD version, so you can try it before you install it.
That was the whole reason I pinged BSF. :)
