I've never cared for Peg since she wrote that "Thousand points of light" line for Bush I.

Her writing borders on the sophomoric in my opinion.

I agree, a thousands points of light was ridiculous, at least I thought it was.

In many ways, I like her - she is certainly graceful and beautiful - but I read one of her books (the one with the imaginary gathering, called "The Case Against Hillary Clinton"), and I thought it was one of the corniest things I've ever read in my life.

Sophomoric is a good word.

I feel the same way about her stuff. Too much of the vision thing. Everyone yaps about "shining city on a hill." I think she's probably madder she didn't write it than she is right, but this speech wasn't a barnburner.

Bush is an honest man, not a great speaker, no matter how much people suck up to him here.
