And shows an all out blizzard in the major cities....

Actual blizzards are almost non-existent on the East Coast.

There's a windspeed requirement for a blizzard that is almost never met.

You could have 5 feet of snow and it wouldn't be a blizzard.

Other thing to remember is AccuSux is comprised of incompetent and deceptive hypemongers.

Irrelevant; what matters is the official National Weather Service definition of Blizzard, which has specific numerical criteria.

A foot of snow doesn't sound all that bad...not after getting 3 feet in in Philly, Feb in 1996.

A severe weather condition characterized by low temperatures, winds 35 mph or greater, and sufficient falling and/or blowing snow in the air to frequently reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less for a duration of at least 3 hours. A severe blizzard is characterized by temperatures near or below 10°F, winds exceeding 45 mph, and visibility reduced by snow to near zero.

here is your definition

When is this supposed to hit? This weather report is less than specific.

I'll NEVER forget that storm. I had just moved into this apartment the week before. That's something I wouldn't want to see again. The stupid plows put the snow piles on the corners where my son used to cross the street to go to school. He had to go INTO the street to see if cars were coming before he could cross.

Saturday mid-day or morning depending where you are. Pittsburg area gets it earlier in the morning.

Right in time for the weekend! I've promised my 4-year-old daughter snowmen and sledding for weeks now, looks like a fun Saturday. Woo hoo! A few drinks with the wife in front of the fireplace to top off the evening, then football with the fellas Sunday. Perfect winter weekend.

And although I'm a Giants fan, I'll actually root for the Eagles to break their curse at last. Eagles-Pats sounds like the proper Super Bowl this year. Sorry Steeler fans.

...not after getting 3 feet in in Philly, Feb in 1996.

I remember that! The Korean mom and pop store owners in our neighborhood slept in their store for days and were the only place open.

We had oil heat and were worried about running out of oil and not being able to get any delivered w/the streets being full of snow.

But my biggest fear was that my son wasn't going to be able to get back to college and he'd be w/me, eating me out of house and home. Fortunately the airport opened on the day he was scheduled to leave. : )
