At noon today the MP's had a section of Wilson Road blocked off. It was later announced that 60+ Starlings had all died near the old Anderson Golf Course. The birds were all in a very small area. The post MEDCOM did not find any evidence of toxins, but . . . . . . . .
My bet is the golf course managers poisoned them...they can be a nuisance

Lets see, yesterdays low temp in the area: 22 °F / -5 °C, in light freezing rain. Starlings roost in flocks (yes all together) and in that part of the country might not be prepared for that temperature.

My Dad used to bait them in and let me blaze away at them with a BB gun. Amazingly some idiot DELIBERATELY introduced them to North America.

Yipes! I remember 10s of 1000s of those dang things in the trees up and down 5th Avenue, when I lived there ~30 years ago. We would have welcomed a bunch of them keeling over.
